WPH recognises the impact that its operations can have on the local environment through its operations and the global environment as a consequence of its supply chain connections. It is committed to minimising the impact of these operations and the key points of its strategy to achieve this will be:
- Compliance with all relevant environmental legislation;
- Expanding our training programme for all staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and enlist their support to improve WPH performance;
- Working with suppliers to encourage the adoption of similar principles;
- Working with clients and suppliers to specify and source product ranges that will lead to a reduction in the environmental impact of both production and distribution;
- Actively promoting recycling internally and amongst our customers and suppliers;
- Minimising toxic emissions through the selection and use of our fleet and the source of our power requirements;
- Minimising waste where possible by evaluating our operations and ensuring that they are as efficient as possible
Measures are being developed to evaluate our impact on the environment which will assist in setting targets for ongoing improvement.
As a family orientated firm we are all conscious of the inheritance that we leave for our children and future generations which drive our approach to minimise the effects to the environment of what we do in our daily operations and all that supports those activities.
